Randax proudly presents a nice new project with Finferries for Hailuoto ferry L/A Merisilta. L/A Merisilta operates between Oulunsalo Riutunkari and Hailuoto, which is one of the greatest ferry routes in Finland.
Commissioning of new motors will take place in the end of 2024. Randax delivery consist of a two main propulsion permanent magnet motors with nominal power of 1490kW at speed of 355RPM. Nominal voltage of motors is 690V and they are controlled by multiple frequency drives.
Water-cooled motors are equipped with hydrostatic slide bearings and specially customized for perfect operation in this very application. Customization includes fitting motor dimensions in a way that they easily replace old motors. Also bearing design is done to match perfectly with present main propulsion shaft and thrust bearing. Executing design project like this, Randax provides best service and advantages for client. Last, but not least, new motors will come with very nice looking, high quality and in refreshing colours.
