Magnetic Couplings

Permanent magnet couplings of two types, reluctance couplings and permanent magnet couplings. Both are used as torque limiter to protect gear and motor in power transmission systems.

Permanent magnet coupling fits for lower speed and higher torque applications where speed is up to couple thousand RPM and torques up to 5000Nm. This fits for applications where load can be stuck suddenly and, in that situation, coupling protects power transmission system locating between drive motor and gear. Crushers could be mentioned as application example.

Reluctance coupling fits for applications where load can be suddenly accelerated to high speed from different reasons and here also coupling protects power transmission system locating between drive motor and gear. Applications could be different types of steering gear system.
